Union negotiations continue! Support your nurses, and support corporate accountability!

If you're looking for union updates, you’ve come to the right place. I never in a million years dreamed I would be doing whatever the hell it is I’m doing. But possibly for the first time in my life I can tell you one thang…this feels right! As you may have gathered, I am not a fan of the CNO nor the CPO…Chief People Officer??? Get real.

First off that implies that you should be a “people” person, right? But we have “Mr Personality of a Dish-rag” here, who by all accounts spends more time on the links than he does actually doing, I don’t know…his job?? How he ever slithered into that position may be another page in and of itself. But back to the union…Montage is not playing fair. Big surprise I know, but whatever crap they spew to the public through their local media is just that. Since day one they have fought like a jilted lover. And we are talking way above unethical. We can start with the union busting goons they had shipped in. Mercenaries if you will. Meatheads with no original thoughts of their own, standing in MY hospital, trying to convince me to “Give Mike a chance.” Well compensated for their time I've confirmed, to the average tune of $2000 per DAY per goon. Plus a stipend. And there were over 30 of them. Easy to see where a couple of million disappeared. And where did that cash come from or what else could it have been used for?

Here’s a little side note…in the pursuit of performing my legal rights to assemble the union, my own hospital called 911 on me. Trespassing. Every legal right to be there. Now we’re wasting precious tax dollars. Let that sink in. But that goon in particular was Montage’s very own, Director of Family Birth Center, Catherine Powers. Needless to say the police smelled the bullshit as soon as they stepped in it, which was getting out of their patrol car. My hat’s off to Monterey’s finest, Mike I believe was the supes name but I will confirm and report back. So while I’m being detained (yes I couldn’t leave) the Capitan called over CHOMP security and basically undressed him. I have gotten to know the security force here quite well over the years and I can tell you one thing, for an under paid, over worked department, there ain’t a slacker in the bunch. A testament to a fan favorite, recently retired, dawg in his own right, Director of Security, KG. Even though he no longer roams the hallways with trademark curls flowing in the breeze and his lunchbox size paws greeting one and all, his protege’s Genghis, Mike and my six James, are there to say, “Not on my watch!” Now as tough as it was for the nurses during the campaign, my heart goes out to these guys. Absolutely piss poor leadership from the Ivory Tower that left them conflicted and forced to go against their own moral compass. The nurses couldn’t understand how their friendly security force had turned on them but once I explained the dynamics of The Firm, they quickly realized these guys were being forced to do this. What choice did they have? They all have lives, families, commitments, right? Where else are they gonna go…? And CHOMP knows this, and uses it against them. Hell, they use it against all of us. Meaning the public as well. Think about all the real estate being gobbled up by Montage. Wake up people. It’s called market control. Keep the competition down, control the prices. Are they in healthcare or real estate? There’s another word for that but that’s a line I'm not ready to cross. The Weekly does as good of job as any getting the filtered news out to you but don’t forget, Montage also has a big influence on your local media. It’s called advertising dollars. So they also theoretically write their own narrative. At least till now.

Back to how we got here…well over $2 million spent to fight, and I mean fight, the union. Absolutely against all rules of decent society, bordering on illegal, tactics meant to both mislead and intimidate. Once you hear the real truth, your toes will curl.

Breaktime…
